i have been thinking a lot about what i wan tot do to be in shape. i joined wellbridge for the community of people and they also teach Nia there, which is a highly creative dance/kickboxing/yoga type of class. i feel super creative while i am doing it and it inspires me to find ways enjoying myself and exercising at the same time. i had a session with a personal trainer and he went through all these exercises i should go through twice a week. well…i went there for the first time by myself and spent about twenty minutes being miserable and wishing i were somewhere else. there comes a time when simple is better and not coming up with a unique plan of action is best all around. i decided to cancel my membership and i am just going to run. running is fun and i come up with lots of creative ideas while i’m doing it.

Atika you couldnt have put it better. I am a runner I prolly run 6 or 7 miles a day. I became bored with it for awhile and switched my regiment burning just as many calories but gained about 5 lbs strange uh! Well anyway being creative with excercise could be dangerous ! I feel like plain old running is almost like an outlet for me … a release have u …. I am designing handbags at the present time and when I get flustered and stumped I usually just go for a run its therapy!

Atika, I totally agree. I just went running this morning (after many months of not running). Many people say that running is so boring, but I totally disagree. I like the change of scenery and the challenge to reach a certain distance. I even congratulate myself with small distance goals during the run. Usually when I run, I make plans in between working on my breathing. But today, because I ran in a place that is not a ‘track’, I also had fun creating my own route in this really nice subdivision. It was some small c creativity that brought me a sense of peace, happiness, and accomplishment.

Atika I have the same type of views on this. I ran cross country in high school and then tried yoga, pilates, and all kinds of “in style” fitness programs. In the end, running was the only one that helped me feel healthy, open minded, free and liberated.
